General Terms and Conditions of Business (GTCB)
1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions of Business apply to registration and participation in the Vaduz International Master Classes. By registering for the classes participants confirm that they accept these General Terms and Conditions of Business.
2. Registration
Registration for the master classes is completed online and – if stipulated in the course description – a link is to be supplied to a demonstration video (if possible two contrasting works) featuring the participant. Participants confirm upon registration that all rights of use/exploitation associated with the recording (video) are held by or due to them.
There is a limit on the number of active participants on each course. Applications will be considered in the order they are received. Admission of active participants to the course is at the exclusive artistic discretion of the relevant lecturer. There is no legal entitlement to active participation in a master class. The participation fee will be refunded in full if a participant is not accepted by the lecturer.
Participants who are unable to attend the master class for the entire period must state this in writing when they register. The full participation fee will still be payable even if the participant is unable to attend all the sessions.
If the minimum number of participants for a master class cannot be reached, Internationale Meisterkurse Vaduz reserves the right to reduce the number of teaching days. However if this situation should arise, participants would still receive the full complement of teaching sessions. The participation fee will be refunded in full if a master class does not take place.
3. Participation and registration fees
Details of the participation fees for the master classes scheduled can be downloaded from the Internationale Meisterkurse Vaduz website.
4. Payment terms
The participation fee is payable by bank transfer, in full, immediately upon online registration. All charges and fees for international transfers are the sole responsibility of the participant.
5. Cancellation
Notification of cancellation in writing before 1st June of the relevant year will incur a handling fee of CHF 170; the remaining participation fee will be refunded, less all transaction costs. The participant's international bank account details (incl. BIC and IBAN) together with the name of the account holder and the bank's address must be stated in the written notice of cancellation.
If participation is cancelled after 1st June of the year in question, the participation fee can only be refunded in justifiable exceptional circumstances (in particular force majeure). In such a case notice of cancellation must be given in writing before the master class begins. If the master class for which a reservation has been made is cancelled after it has begun, the full participation fee will be charged, even in a case of force majeure.
6. Course confirmation
At the end of the master class, active participants of the International Master Classes in Vaduz will receive a certificate confirming their participation.
7. Accommodation
Internationale Meisterkurs Vaduz can arrange private accommodation for participants free of charge, on an accommodation-only basis. Participants should indicate whether they would like to take up this offer at the time of registration. Private accommodation will only be reserved if the participation fee is received in due time.
8. Images, Video and Sound Recordings
Internationale Meisterkurse reserves the right to produce appropriate photographic images, video and sound recordings and publish them without obtaining the further consent of the participants. This does not give rise to any entitlement to compensation.
9. Data Protection
Internationale Meisterkurse Vaduz collects personal details from participants in order to process applications and finalise participation arrangements. All personal details will be treated as confidential. Registration for the master classes is binding and by registering the participant agrees to the use and electronic processing of his or her personal data by Internationale Meisterkurse Vaduz to enable it to accomplish its operations, in particular to conduct the course that has been booked. The data required to conduct the master classes will be stored and made available to the appropriate lecturers for the purposes of the course.
10. Liability
Participation in the Vaduz International Master Classes is at the participant's own risk. The participant is liable for damage he or she has caused. Internationale Meisterkurse Vaduz accepts no liability to compensation, unless the claim arises from a deliberate act or gross negligence, in particular if an event has to be cancelled.
11. Insurance
All participants in the Vaduz International Master Classes must have valid sickness, accident and liability insurance. The organiser accepts no liability in the event of accidents or theft of any nature, damage or in the event of loss of personal effects.
12. Special conditions applying to under-age participants
The parent or guardian who concludes the contract for participation in the master classes on behalf of a participant who is under age agrees that Internationale Meisterkurse Vaduz exercises no authority over the under-age participant. This applies in particular to conduct immediately before the course commences and after it ends, and outside the premises in which the master class is conducted.
The parent or guardian is liable for damage caused by the under-age participant. Furthermore the parent or guardian shall indemnify Internationale Meisterkurse Vaduz and hold it harmless in respect of any compensation claims asserted by the under-age participant.
13. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
The exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with the course programme shall be the registered office of Internationale Meisterkurse, Vaduz, Liechtenstein. Contracts concluded with Internationale Meisterkurse Vaduz shall be subject to the Law of Liechtenstein.
